Monitoring Warnings

Monitoring from the DupeBlocker Applications Tab

DupeBlocker Administrators can monitor current warnings from the DupeBlocker Application tab.  Select "All" from the view menu to review all active warnings.  Views are also available for specific objects, i.e. "Account Duplicate Warnings".  Custom views can also be created if desired.





Warnings will automatically be deleted when all the potential duplicates are merged/converted.

Warnings can also manually be deleted by selecting the delete button from within the warning (i.e. reviewed the list of duplicates this warning pertains to, and the scenario that triggered the warning, but have determined the records are not in fact duplicates).  Deleting a warning will also delete all warning tasks and DupeBlocker Potential Duplicates related lists that pertain to that warning.

If a warning is generated and the user does not wish to merge/convert the potential duplicates, only the DupeBlocker Administrator will be able to delete the warning.  Access can be granted to users to delete warnings, but this could defeat the purpose of DupeBlocker (user chooses to ignore the warning, but the record is in fact a duplicate and should be merged/converted).  Since this can be done based on the specific profile, this option could be enabled for managers but not for general users.

Note:  Although the "Edit" option is visible to System Administrators, DupeBlocker Duplicate Warnings should never be manually edited.

Monitoring for a Particular Scenario

DupeBlocker Statistics are displayed in scenario details also.  Additionally, the related list of active warnings is included on the DupeBlocker Scenario page layout.

1. Duplicate Warning Count:  Current number of active warnings.  Can check the related list to view specific warnings.
2. Duplicates Blocker:  Total number of duplicates blocked by this scenario.
3. Potential Duplicate Record Count:  Current number of potential duplicates identified in active warnings.
4. Duplicates Merged:  Total number of records merged/converted for this scenario.

Monitoring via Dashboards/Reports

The DupeBlocker Application also comes with a Dashboards and Reports tab for monitoring scenario effectiveness.

Monitoring from the Lead/Contact/Account Record

Assuming page layouts have been updated to include the DupeBlocker Potential Duplicates related lists per the instructions in DupeBlocker Basics -> Initial Configuration of DupeBlocker -> Customizing Page Layouts, the following will be shown when directly accessing Leads/Contacts/Accounts in the Salesforce user interface.

Clicking on the Warning within the potential duplicate detail will allow for converting/merging duplicates.  More information on potential duplicate details can be found in DupeBlocker Step by Step Instructions -> Warnings -> What are Warnings? ->  Warning Components -> DupeBlocker Potential Duplicates.

Note:  If only the Potential Duplicate Number is displayed, then the DupeBlocker Potential Duplicates Related List was not updated to include the Duplicate Warning and Scenario per the instructions in DupeBlocker Installation -> Initial Configuration of DupeBlocker -> Customizing Page Layouts.  In this case, either update the related List Layout or simply click on the Potential Duplicate Number to access the Warning.
