Do I still need a separate version of DupeBlocker if I want to include Record Types in my Scenario Rules?

No. Since DupeBlocker 2 now allows matching on any field in Salesforce, including custom fields, there is only one version of the tool. To match on Record Types simply pick the Record Type ID as a field to match on in your Scenario Rules for that particular scenario.

Can I upgrade from a 1.X version of DupeBlocker to the DupeBlocker 2 version or do I have to do a complete uninstall and reinstall?

Yes, but only if a Record Type version was installed (i.e. 1.0.5-rt). Non Record Type versions will require a complete uninstall and reinstall. It is also highly recommended that a complete uninstall and resintall be done in either case due the the extensive changes/enhancements included in DupeBlocker 2.

Can DupeBlocker be installed in the Sandbox?

Yes. When you start the installation process, a prompt will appear asking if DupeBlocker should be installed in either Production or Sandbox. Select the appropriate radio button and be sure to to enter your login credentials for Production or Sandbox based on where it should be installed.
