DupeBlocker 2 New Features Ability to Match on ANY Field in Salesforce INCLUDING Custom Fields!
Previous versions of DupeBlocker only allowed matching rules to be created using standard Salesforce fields. Custom fields can now be included in matching rules.
Filter Options Now Available!
Scenarios can now be customized to include filters to limit when they will be triggered. Filters can be based on specific fields within the object itself, or based on the attributes of the current Salesforce user who is inserting or updating a record. For example:
- Object Based Filter: Trigger this scenario only for Accounts where the Country equals "US"
- User Based Filter: Trigger this scenario only for users with a specific profile, role, or specific users based on either user name or user id

Lead, Contact and Account scenarios now have an additional "Match on Insert Action" option, Auto-Merge. Lead to Contact and Lead to Account scenarios now have an additional "Match on Insert Action" option, Auto-Convert Lead. Auto-Merge
If a record matches based on a Lead, Contact or Account scenario it can automatically be merged into the matching record.
The merge can be customized as to which existing record the new record should be merged into if there are multiple matches:
- Oldest Record
- Newest Record
- Last Updated Record
Additionally the merge can be customized as to how the fields should be merged from the new record:
- Ignore
- Update if Blank
- Overwrite
- Merge (for multi-select, text area & checkbox fields)
Defaults can be set for all fields, and then overrides can be set for specific fields.
Tasks can optionally be created to track the data on the new record prior to the merge. All fields can be included in the task or just specific fields.

Auto-Convert
If a Lead matches an existing Contact based on a Lead to Contact scenario it can automatically be converted and merged into the matching Contact. If a Lead matches an existing Account based on a Lead to Account scenario it can automatically be converted to a NEW Contact on the matching Account.
The conversion itself can be customized as to which record the new record should be converted into if there are multiple matches:
- Oldest Record
- Newest Record
- Last Updated Record
Additionally the conversion can be customized as to how the fields should be converted. Salesforce's conversion mappings are used as defaults, but individual mappings can be added or updated to customize the conversion on a field by field basis:
- Ignore
- Update if Blank
- Overwrite
- Merge (for multi-select, text area & checkbox fields)
Opportunities can be created as part of the conversion if desired.
